A Book

Is it possible to enjoy a photo book, tearing up on many photos, heartily laughing on some of them and feeling your emotions take a wild ride? And that too a photo book that’s not your family’s, not your friend’s, not even someone you’ve ever seen in person? I did and so did my husband and my son. Former Chief Official White House photographer Pete Souza’s new book on Obama - An Intimate Portrait - is the best gift we’ve got ourselves. The book makes you feel like you are almost reliving his presidency and as if you were there at every moment, watching him closely, no one to stop you and the best part? You can relive it again and again by just flipping through the pages. Of course the photography is superb but, the stories each photo tells you, the capture of moments in anyone’s life would have been good but, Barack Obama’s? Dear god! Bless their souls. .

Guest Bedroom

A close up of the guest bedroom at our client’s home. The Noguchi floor lamp is an unlikely pairing but works perfectly with the old cane headboard and the framed architectural drawings.

Great Room

Part of a multiple seating group, the great room in our client’s house in DC is a riot of color and pattern! The Japanese style staircase behind is the only major part of the house we kept during the renovation as it is one of the main reasons the clients bought the house.

Texas

Praying for Texas and all the other victims of such mindless actions. No words to convey the horror and shock of how many times this keeps happening in this country. It has to stop. They say 7% of the population in this little town in Texas was wiped out today! Dear god!! 

A pop of color

The gorgeous backyard of our client's home! Had the pleasure of fully redesigning their home, patio and garden. Since this is a large contemporary home, it only made sense to stick to classics like the Bertoia chairs. However, an overarching goal of the project for me personally was to infuse a sense of fun in their home particularly with color. But, You couldn't over do it, given the contemporary nature of their home and their own personal tastes. Hence, pops of color like the orange seats on the Bertoias did the job perfectly! 📷 by @rikkisnyder

Lights, camera, action!

I love this shot taken by @rikkisnyder ! I remember thinking of #danflavin when we composed this photograph as I saw the light from the window not only filling the nook but walking through the lines of the bulkhead on the ceiling while the rest of the walls lightly faded making it almost like a light installation!
